- 300 ml warm water
- 250 g wholemeal flour
- 250 g bread flour
- 25 g castor sugar
- 10 g salt
- 1 pkt instant yeast
- 25 g shortening
- 50 g sunflower seed (optional)
Procedure:
- pour water into wholemeal flour ... stand for 45 mins
- add bread flour, castor sugar, salt, instant yeast
- mix with dough hook, low speed for 1 min ..
- add shortening, sunflower seed ... mix another 1 min
- increase speed to medium ... mix 9 mins ... till smooth and elastic
- cover with damp cloth .. allow to rise in warm place for 30 - 35 mins
- divide dough into two ... mould them to fit bread tins
- allow to rise for 60 mins
- preheat oven 200*C ... bake for 30 - 35 mins
- makes 2 loaves (425 g each) or
- 14 buns (60 g each)
